Role Description

Zendesk Kraków is seeking an ambitious Accountant to become a key member of the EMEA finance team. You will be responsible for the monthly general ledger processing for specific subsidiaries within the region, including Poland. As an Accountant, you will also be involved in all statutory reporting and compliance for these Zendesk European companies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of local currency monthly accounts to strict reporting deadlines in accordance with US GAAP and corporate accounting policies
  • Provision of the monthly financial package for review with EMEA Reporting Manager including analytical review and commentary on variances
  • Responsibility for detailed Balance Sheet analysis and reconciliations
  • Accurate calculation and reporting of month-end accruals and prepayments
  • Reconciliation of intercompany activity
  • Being involved in local statutory reports and periodic VAT returns for specific EMEA subsidiaries
  • Monthly cash flow forecasting
  • Assistance in the implementation of appropriate internal controls and procedures as well as ensuring compliance with corporate policies
  • Ad hoc project support as needed

Required skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent degree
  • Minimum 2 years of recent relevant financial experience, especially in general ledger area
  • Experience in international accounting
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Highly focused, organized and detail oriented
  • Motivated, self-directed and proactive
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • English and Polish - full working proficiency

Nice to have

  • Technology company and startup experience
  • Knowledge of NetSuite
  • Experience working in a company with Headquarters in US
